Edson Ernst Marime: Born in 1968 in the Chitaunhike Village of Guruve, Zimbabwe. Edson's early years were spent in his home district, later moving to Harare for his secondary schooling. After leaving school, he returned home and was introduced to the work of the late Brighton Sango, one of the international greats of the art form. Learning what he could from Brighton, Edson started sculpting in 1988, seeking a style that was purely his own.

Brother of established sculptor Obert Marime, Edson has had exposure to many other accomplished artists who have also come from the Guruve region, which is located several hundred miles northwest of the capitol city of Harare. Edson continues to live in the dramatic Guruve district, using the richly variegated local stones, which are the trademark of many of the Guruve artists.

Edson's sculpture can be found at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and has been sold to collectors worldwide including Great Britain, Spain, Australia and the United States. He has exhibited throughout Zimbabwe and the United States including the following exhibitions:
