Tafadzwa Mandala was born in Marondera Zimbabwe which is in the Nyanga Highlands.
He is the son of noted sculptor Peter Mandala. He and his family continue
the Shona tradition of farming as well as sculpting. Tafadzwa brings his fine talents
to the carving of spirits of many varieties. He expresses his inner character and
feelings thru each "spiritstone". He works with local rocks such as serpentine,
verdite, nrongo (leopard) rock and opalstone. His work has been widely exhibited
throughout Zimbabwe, South Africa, Europe, Japan and extensively in the United States. American exhibitions include:
